Topic - The Value of Your Personal Brand –Using LinkedIn®(LI) to Unlock its Effectiveness
Speaker - Peggy Parker Edge owner of Edge Consultants
What do your Personal Brand (PB) and LinkedIn® have in common?
Today, we are going to explore the features of LI to create and develop your brand to lay out the groundwork for your career development within your company and industry.
What is a Personal Brand and why do you need to develop it for professional development and advancement?
- A Personal Brand is the means to communicate and present your value to your company, colleagues, and respective industry.
- What are you known for?
- How are you perceived by others within your organization and those within your particular industry?
- Using LinkedIn as the powerful tool that it is, we will examine ways to document your experience and area of specialization such as:
- Detailing your work experience.
- Creating industry-specific content, curating other people’s content, and engaging with other industry gurus.
- Identifying your skill-sets, endorsing others, and being endorsed for your knowledge.
- Educational background.
- Recommendations – Give to Get!
- Honors/Awards.
- Accomplishments – Additional educational coursework (both taken and given), Publications, Volunteer/Civic work, and Projects.
- Finally, once you are finished creating your profile, you can also convert this into a Resume with one button.
Did you know that your Personal Brand is Your EDGE Over Your Competition and can position you instantly for career opportunities? Regardless of where you are in your career, you want to be seen and acknowledged as “the expert” in your field.
I look forward to meeting everyone to share some of my LinkedIn expertise with you.
Peggy Parker Edge is the owner of Edge Consultants, an entrepreneur, Certified Life & Executive Coach, Business Consultant, Professional Speaker, provider of LinkedIn training and profile makeovers, and an industrial packaging specialist.
Her background includes being the owner of 3 companies: a computer systems integration organization, an industrial packaging distribution company, and now, a business coach and consultant.
She cut her teeth in the industrial packaging industry where she was the 1st woman to be hired as an outside sales executive of a family-owned East Texas-based packaging company in 1978.
After working for this company for 14 years, she opened her own company, Edge Packaging Systems for 18 years where she developed a 5-Key Steps to Effective Business Networking process to grow that business exclusively with warm referrals, never cold-calling as a means of marketing.
