Speakers: Dustin Divinia & Paul McCormick – Principal partners in LLR.

Starting a cattle ranch in modern times has its share of challenges.  First off, a lack of experienced labor pool.  The average farmer or rancher in the United States was recently proclaimed to be around 67 years of age.  Honestly, where does the next generation think their food is going to come from. Other major challenges include raising capital for equipment, feed, and livestock.  Then there are the emergencies, like cattle on the highway because someone crashed through a fence, or a cow giving a breached birth that needs immediate assistance.

Sure there are some cowboys out there, but it’s a “Jack of All Trades” role to be Cattlemen.  In this presentation we will discuss many of the challenges, unique solutions, and opportunities associated with this industry.  We will explore supply chain, marketing, and logistics concepts and provide a real insight into what it takes to “Make it Happen” for these in a challenging environment.

Dustin currently overseas the day to day operation of the Ranch where the Registered Texas Longhorn Breeding and Lean Meat Production takes place.  Daily activities include accounting operations, maintenance, and emergency response (fence repair & calving).

He also is currently employed as Vice President of Sales and Design at Vector Systems, Inc. Dustin Divinia has broad experience in process control, having commissioned over 100 SCR systems worldwide and designed over 500. At VSI, Dustin is responsible for staff including design, estimating & sales teams. Prior to joining Vector, he was a project engineer, and engineering manager at a competitor where he led a team of over twenty employees. Divinia has specialized knowledge in the areas of Selective Catalytic Reduction systems (SCR) used on boilers, combined cycle generation, simple cycle generation, diesel generator sets, coal boilers and other combustion sources.

Dustin earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University. He is also an active member of the American Boiler Manufacturer’s Association (ABMA).

In addition he is active in other endeavors, including residential Real Estate investments and a Personal Care Home.
